Guys halfords need to replace my handlebars on my boardman comp, there's a fault on the bars but we wont go into that at the moment. They have ordered the boardman bars to be delivered to the store, and have assured me that a competent person will fit the new bars to the bike. Now I am under the impression that they will need to fit new tape to these bars, and I am almost convince that they will use the present halfords bar tape which looks like you could spit thru it,and is cheap and nasty,am I correct in saying that they will use this tape or will they use the old tape off the present bars.

Any advice most welcome

Can't imagine they would use the old tape. But then again it is Halfords we are talking about.
Ask them not to tape it and do it yourself with some decent tape.
It's not a hard job to do.

Ian the bars, tape plus end caps are under warranty including any labour. So cant touch them as the resposibility lies with them.

tell them you want boardman tape on it before they hand it over! but before you do this, take a good look at the Halfords stuff so that you are confident you know the difference and can have them about it if they cheat
