Hi there,

I'm new to this forum and new to biking. I have a Schwinn Searcher, a hybrid bike. I have an adjustable bit for my handlebars which has raised it a little but I'm thinking that it would be nice to have bar ends so that I have a different handlebar position to use as I do get sore wrists when cycling. I am used to spinning in a gym and like the different positions. Can I fit bar ends to a hybrid bike or are they just for mountain bikes?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Sugarpuff and :welcome:

Looking at that bike there should be no problem fitting bar ends. Just remember you need to move the shifters and grips inwards to fit the bar-ends and may have to cut the end off the grips.

Definitely yes, and personally something which provides a lot of comfort. I have some rubber covered ergo ones which I bought in Holland, then tracked down more from an Ebayer in Taiwan as they were so good

I use These on my Carrera and because space was limited on the bars, I also added These .  yes they may be womans grips, but they are shorter than the mens ones (means I don't have to shift the shifters and brakes too far along)  and fit my hands perfect!
