In Hi-Fi terms, £3,500 isn't actually that much! I'm not saying that it's not overpriced toss, I think it is, but there's a lot of stuff out there that costs a lot more than that. In fact, if you walked into a good Hi-Fi shop you'd find that at least half of the stuff in the shop cost more than that.

Good sound is one that you like Mr Pig.Sty le is another matter...;)

There's an awful lot of inverted snobbery about B&O i.e. the bloke propping up the snug bar who met a bloke once who was into hifi will tell you they are crap. They may well be in terms of that last 0.5% of audio performance but basically they sound pretty damn good and look absolutely gorgeous. It's just a question of whether or not you want your technology to look good and if you are prepared to pay for it.

It's not just that B&O sounds less than brilliant but the style often activly gets in the way of function. Ridiculously shaped speakers, glass doors over buttons and components so slender they loose all mechanical integrity. Good design can be both stylish and very effective but B&O is just load of fiddle!

I used to have a Hifi system worth about £4k. Then I decided to downgrade and buy some more music instead.
