Howdy,
Replacing my front derailleur as I gone and bent the old one. Upon removing the main mech unit, there is still an external band around the tube. It is not brazed onto the frame, more like a band but it has stayed on while the mech unit has come away. Is it an adapter for braze on mechs? Or was it a band on derailleur? It's the original Shimano 105 that came with the bike (Scott Speedster 20). Looks like this below but attaches this but not as posh
