I saw one of these do the Ride 100 in 2013, was lovely. It seemed to stay in tact. The panda that was riding it was a bit grumpy though.

I've seen a couple of bamboo bikes in my local bike shop.

The frame of one was very heavy due to all the metal bonded to each end of the bamboo tubes.

The ride of the other was dreadfully flexy, according to the mechanic who tried it.

That one has since suffered a lateral crack in the down tube.

Both of those bamboo bikes may have been cheap and nasty, but the experience does suggest bamboo cannot be taken seriously as a material for a bicycle frame.

But there are some very seriously priced bamboo bikes. Huge prices.

There was a company that made Bamboo bikes in the UK. Many favourable reviews in terms of ride quality, weight, etc. However they went out of business, presumably due to disappointing sales rather than quality concerns and returns.

Was considering the Bamboo Bicycle Club as an option, but I'm at best a bit ham-fisted, and at worst, an aesthetic liability, and I'm not convinced my workmanship could do enough justice to the material.
