Got a DHB balaclava from Wiggle two years ago. Use it regular in the winter, one of the best bits of winter clothing I ever bought! Certainly wouldn't want to be without it. DHB is quality stuff.

Aldi still have ( or did have) some fishing gear in the reduced items . Ive got a few thermal buffs from there and they are great for night rides so I guess good for winter .

Buffs are good.
I also treated myself to an under helmet skullcap from ALDI in their last cycling promotion. Excellent value and promises to be windproof and warm.

I was showing my Mum my fancy merino buff the other day. "Oooh" she says "a snood!" and once she'd said it I remember her knitting us 'snoods' in the '80's. I had them in all different florescent colours.

She'd make a bomb if she started knitting them again!

Years ago, when I started skiing, I used to use a silk motorcycle balaclava, which, under a woollen bobble hat, kept my head and neck warm. Nowadays I use a buff and bobble hat.

For cycling, a buff and skull cap and helmet should do the trick.
