back peddling ?

i was reading an article about endurance in it it described how when your resting its good to spin the legs to stop lactic acid building up ,

got me thinking that when out on rides over 50 miles it might be an idea to pull over next to a wall or similar and instead of getting off bike spend a few minutes back peddling ,

any thought ?

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
It is easier to get off your bike to peddle. Although some peddlers do pedal to peddle and could also be described as pedallers - or pedalling pedlars - the traditional French onion seller for example - though I don't thihk they usually back-pedal whilst peddling.
