After a brief break due to adverse weather conditions - winter - I've jumped back on my bike with a new gusto. Cycling is one of the few exercises I can happily do regularly so it's about time. Would have started sooner but the old wheels were getting a tune up in Halfords. They did a decent enough job, but as the saying goes, you can't polish sh*t. A new bike is needed, saving up for it.

So the cycle was ok, tried a new route which was risky as I didn't know if I was fit enough to complete. Was on 7.5km though - I'll extend in a couple weeks.

The bike seat almost completed the journey. Unfortunately the Halfords staff are malnourished...

...just before the home stretch - aptly named - I hit a speed bump (don't know who put it there or I'd report it) and the seat slid straight down the pipey thingy bob that holds it.

Rid standing the rest of the way. Gonna take a wrench to it.

Oh yeah, hello.

Sounds like you did okay, but deffo get that seat post sorted!!!

I'm getting back on mine after winter too and need to get my fitness back.

Saddles are a funny thing though, I went through a few before finding one I really liked. Not one of those padded gel things though, a really thin / slim one.

Should get better as the weather improves, and adding extra miles won't seem such a big deal once you've got back into it.

Good luck with it all ...

Thanks but the seat post is finish... well not the pole, but the screw that holds it in position. I'll pick up a new one from Homebase. Prob cost 50p or something. It's a shame cos I was geared up for a cycle tonight.
