Re: Specialized E5 Allez Sport (2015)
When I search online for advice for a suitable brake caliper replacement, the stock answer seems to be... 'this question gets asked a lot, just check the forums'. Unfortunately when doing so I get the stock answer.

Clearly I can measure how much cable comes out when I pull the lever etc. but I don't have access to test samples of the Ambrosia, Miche, SRAM, Shimano Camp... So does anyone know which or what XYZ works well? Koolstop Salmon compatible would be nice but not necessary

Many thanks

Loch side.
Citing the brand of bike isn't helpful. Citing the type of brake is. Perhaps a photo of the existing caliper?

What's wrong with the stock calipers?
to be honest... nothing. But everything I have read about the Axis 1.0 suggests there is a better answer. I played with the idea of changing bikes to get something with discs, its a life stage, being able to stop well is more important than going fast. Given the money I saved on a disc bike, I thought spend a little see if I can improve something that isn't broke tbh!
Having read the reviews on the 105's (thanks again @Spiderweb ) there may be discernible benefits, even over the Tiagra, which are twenty quid cheaper.

Edit: Wheels next of course, they are Axis as well with similar scathing opinions by many
