Ironically I recall asking a former manager about his Pug 308 I think it was, I was in the.market for a new car at the time.
His take on it....
Does everything it says on the can, but its the most boring car I ever owned !

Actually I don't think it does. It's very well designed to show the driver using the car carefully and responsibly at all times. The Peugeot doesn't demonstrate that it's fastest off the line, it's last off the line. It never goes very fast, just uses diversions et al. It's the speeders that all get their comeuppance. When Dick Dastardly drops caltrops, they use it to show how nimble and versatile the car is. The panoramic window is used to see the Red baron so the driver takes the route into the tunnel.

It's very clever.

I agree about advert and I also agree about the first generation 308 . And I should know as I worked for Peugeot for 34 years . Employees could lease cars and I must have had about 40 new cars in that 34 years . Everything from 309, 206,306, first gen 308, 207, 208, DS3, DS4 and finally second generation 308.
And the first gen 308 was definitely the most boring of the lot, but on the other hand the second generation 308 I left the company with in 2019 is the best car I’ve ever owned. Better even than the 306 GTI which had been my favourite.😀
