Ditto above - I think that you're stuck with cable-operated disc brakes (Avid BB5, BB7, etc) if you want to keep using drop bars.

That is unless someone, somewhere has created an elegant bodge (akin to SJS and their MTB thumb shifters using road bar end shifters).

This page has pictures of a couple of cable operated master cylinders which would adapt cable pull from a drop lever into hydraulic pressure. I've never seen such a thing in real life, and suspect that they might not be current products. Might be worth giving Hope a call though.

I've got BB7 'road' cable operated discs with STI levers and they're pretty good. I'm not sure how much would be gained from going hydraulic, and would be concerned that the adapters might just bring the disadvantages of cables to hydraulic brakes. Not being an MTBer I've never tried hydraulic brakes - what's the difference supposed to be anyway?

Cheers guys - I suspected not.

I've acquired a hybrid which has the making of a perfect Audax / winter bike (for when fixed seems to much effort) - but flat bars? Hmmm.

Guard & rack fittings, guard clearance with 28s, road geometry, 700c, discs, 28" to 120" gears - seems perfect right up to the bars. Maybe it's not an issue though.

You are right Hope do not make the Remote Reservoir any more.[SIZE=-2]
