Avatars: on/off

I tend to browse fora with avatars switched off - this make it a bit easier to view them at work. Following the recent CC upgrade avatars now appear by default, but I can't find an option to switch them off.

Am I missing something, or must I now relegate reading CC to evening hours?

You can't turn them off at the moment, but I believe there is an add-on that allows certain elements of the layout to be turned on/off so I'll look at installing it at some point.

If you switch to the mobile theme there's no avatars. It doesn't have the functionality of the normal theme, but is less obvious while at work.
