I'll be attaching some tinsel along my bike tomorrow evening, ready for my first morning commute into the centre of Nottingham on Monday morning.

What would people suggest for attaching the ends with - cable ties, masking tape, sellotape, scotch tape, other? ... I don't want to end up taking off any paint when I remove it after christmas (although I may be tempted to leave it on), so was thinking of using the masking tape. Any opinions (other than 'do not put the tinsel on' )

Electrical tape 'should not' remove paint and you may be able to match the colour to that of your bike. Very festive of you BTW

Cheers, think I have some black electrical tape in the house so can use that on the handlebars which are also black.

Doing something a little festive puts me in a better mood, and hopefully will have the same effect on others!

Priory Roundabout/Beeston to Fletcher Gate car park via Park Road/Lenton Road is my planned route. I want to avoid the tram tracks on Middle Hill by going through Castle Gate and Low Pavement.

Monday will be my first commute into town since my company has just moved into Pilcher Gate from Glaisdale Drive in Wollaton. Only been cycling for a few weeks so quite likely that people will be passing me rather than the other way around

How far is your commute...

...just in case you need to get a longer extension lead for the fairy lights.

Cable ties worked for me when I put fairy lights on my previous bike, though maybe given the floppy nature of tinsel tape would be easier.
