I've got a fly6 camera/light. Great on the folding bikes, but when I put it on my big bikes that have pannier racks the view is a combination of the the top of my bags and often my top flapping in the wind!

Anyone got any ideas how I could mount it to the back of my rack? I've seen this item on practical cycles, but I dont think the fake seatpost is long enough (2.2cm), the mounting part of the fly6 is about 6cm.

Help!

22mm plumbing pipe fixed to the rack is a good idea. Used this a few times. Just cover pipe in black tape, use bar end plugs to tidy up, and zip ties to affix to rear lamp bracket on rack.

Which bit of rack would you attach it to? It needs to run in the same direction as the seatpost so that the camea is upright. The mount on the light is one of those with stretchy rubble bans that attach onto some hooks on the backesides of the light itself.

P-plips and are your friend.

Find two marine grade steel clip with the right diameter and mount on the horizontal at the back. Some lightweight aluminium tubing (maybe curtain pole) cut to the width of the rack with a hole drilled top and bottom then attached to the faces of the p-clip lugs with self tappers (may need a washer).

Mount the seat post mount horizontally in the space on the tube between the p-clips (so space the clips to accommodate the mount).

Do you have any old V Brakes?

What I did was get a piece of tube as above and then with a long bolt and the V Brake washers as spacers attached the tubing vertically to the rack plate, use of the washers also allows the tube to be tilted down slightly mimicking the seat post angle
