Ooooh, blimey. Errr, I'll have to let you know when the bike comes. It is a MTB and I just want to replace the knobblies with easier going road tyres and I'm led to believe the thinner and harder, the better.

More than likely they will just be standard 26" MTB tyres.

They will say 26 x 1.95 or 26 x 2 on the side (1.95, 2.0 , 2.25 is just the width) so yes.

I used to run 26 x 1.75 on my old bike i used on the road.

You could "probably" go down as low as 26 x 1.5

1.5 would be fine, although i used to run 1 3/8" on my old Giant Rock SE Mountain bike with no issues. 60 psi ish

The tread on them look a bit on the knobbly side compared to standard M+, how do you think theyll roll on the road? Ive been tempted to try them next as I like my M+ but they arent very grippy on trails.
Piccy of tread here if you mouseover http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=52621

To be fair they are not far off the tires on my current hybrid (bontrager) see pic, and they are pretty grippy but prone to pun******* so the m+ (that ive had in the past) would be ideal.

They roll well imho

Yeah, ive been really pleased with my M+ since they run well and ive not had a puncture since i bought them a year ago - I dont mind the odd one but getting one nearly every ride was sapping my enjoyment. Its nice that they have the two tread options - i think thats the only difference between the M+ Tour and M+ City tyres. The tour might make a good winter tyre too, when its wet, leafy, icy.

I think the M+ tour would be a good choice for Madders, since he's chasing horses through forest trails iirc from his other thread
