Assembling cables

I have some of this grease:

Can it be used to smear on the cable inner before I slide it into the outer?

Or do I need to use something else like GT85 or WD40?

yh it could be used.

erm i guess you could use GT85 but wouldnt be my first choice

i use shimano build grease, its just like the stuff you linked up

Every now and then I run a few drops of Finish Line Cross Country chain lube into my cables. I've done that for years and it seems to work well.
