Are top chef's recipes meant to be used?

I was leafing through Gordon Ramsay's recipes in the Times magazine at lunchtime. The first recipe urged the reader to get out into the country to harvest all kinds of obscure fungi. The second one involved a brace of pheasants and the explanation that a brace meant two pheasants. Surely the kind of people who didn't know this would hardly be up to cooking all manner of funny fungi without killing themselves?

I'm sure they can be used, but I don't think it's their primary purpose. Which is to show the world how clever Gordon Ramsey is and to give the Times something glossy to fill some space.

Agreed.

I wouldn't eat anything recommended by that sh*t mouthed wrinkly anyway.
