Are these QR skewers any good?

I was having a quick look on Amazon and stumbled upon this pair of quick release skewers that are for sale a good price (almost too good)

Shimano QR skewers

I need a pair to replace the ageing and rusting, chromed ones that are on my bike at the moment until I can afford to get a decent set. If these aren't any good can anyone recommend a pair for sale for about £10-15.

They should be fine. They may be for an MTB in which case the threaded part will be too long - cut the excess off with a Junior Hacksaw.

One of the US mountain bike mags did an all encompassing review of skewers a few years ago. In every category except weight Shi**no's common or garden skewers came out on top. Stiffness when closed, clamping pressure, resistance to accidental release, value for money. You can't go wrong with them.

Unless of course, like me, you hate Shi**no.

I have an old-ish pair of Campy skewers surplus to requirements if you want - free to a good home

pm me if you want them.

(they're the Chromed ones but in good nick.)

Amazon is usually pretty reliable.... and sometimes quite a bit cheaper than the "usual suspects".
Only thing is, they look like steel levers, so a few grams heavier than the aluminium ones on the better groupsets.
