Does anyone know of any very wide, very firm saddles that aren't leather?
I had a lot of trouble with saddles when I got back into cycling as an adult. I went through a bunch of them including the Charge Spoon and Brooks B17 with no luck. I finally bought a Spa Foss which is similar to the B67 (or 68?) - very wide and flat without springs - and it's a massive improvement.
I still get some perineal numbness though. I think it's because the construction of a leather saddle means the nose has to be angled up a fair bit for you not to slide off. Also I think a cutout would help which you don't generally get with leather. Also it would be nice for it to be waterproof.
I've been looking for a synthetic equivalent without luck; any wide saddle I can find in a shop is extremely soft and squishy. Does such a thing exist?
