Are road bike tires harder to fix than mountain bike?

Ever since buying a road bike I've found it next to impossible to patch a tire, but with the mountain bike it wasn't too hard, I guess it's because the patch is too large for the tire, but I don't see them specifying whether the patch is for mountain bikes or race bikes only, I've tried patching these tyres many times but it just doesn't stick, even tried this really strong glue and there's always a tiny hole somewhere.

There's no difference. Can you explain how you fix a puncture so that we can see what you're doing wrong?

Patching the tyre could be your first mistake, aim for the inner tube :smile: Being serious for a moment - some of the cheap and nasty puncture repair kits have very large inflexible patches - this could be your problem. In addition, you could be;
Not leaving the glue to dry enough
Inflating the tube outside the tyre too much
Not removing the object that caused the problem from the tyre
Not roughing up the tube so the patch sticks
Missing the hole
etc

Are you cutting the patch down to a smaller size to match the narrower tube?
