I'm shopping for a shiny new hybrid bike (OK make that toy^_^). It's at least 10/12 years since I looked at new bikes and many makes/models are new to me. Today I came across the GT range and in particular liked the Transeo 2. Has anyone any experience of this manufacturer or even this model?

Here for rides.
Watch out for some of the GT models sold in Halfords. They sometimes have a reduced spec compared to the high street models of the same name.

Otherwise GT are a reputable make which a big following in the mtb world.

My friend bought a GT roadbike about a year ago it seems well put together. The mountain bikes used to have a very good rep. They may have had their brand damaged a little by being sold at Halfords.

i too have a gt legato flat bar hybrid ,,its a well made piece of kit ,, and one thing that really caught my eye was the welding ,,its an aluminium frame and the welding is really smooth ,,its as if somebody has spent ages smoothing them with a grinder and filler before its painted ,,a good all round bike that rides really well ,,no rattles or anything

Indeed, the smooth welds and the paint job are spot on.

I have a GT Zaskar MTB from the 90's that is still a brilliant bike and was built when GT was an American company making bikes in America. More recently I bought a Traffic 1.0 hybrid which is an excellent all-rounder doing the work commute, long road rides (Did 70 miles on the Jodderel Bank forum ride), shopping trips and has been known to trek across bumpy fields but is obviously more at home on made up tracks than the off-piste stuff. Still in stock for £499 here in small and Med www.jejamescycles.co.uk/gt-traffic-10-item151400.html
Also bought a GT series 3 road bike a few months ago so I obviously have faith in the brand. I would consider the rigid forked bike over the suspension transeo as a hybrid should have little use for heavy suss forks, that stuff is best left to MTBs

Also in stock in all sizes at Wiggle for £525 inc del
