App - Directions

Hi Guys

I am receiving my new bike tomorrow and I have picked a popular cycle route in my area but, I am wondering if there is an app that I can programme a route and it will give me directions through earphones as the route I have picked is via a map so not sure of the directions of the top of my head. Below is the route I have mapped out on Googlemaps so looking to get this onto a app and for the nice lady to tell me when to turn etc

Thanks

You've only got half a dozen road changes, you could write them down on your hand ;)

I might be wrong but I think Google maps app gives you voice directions. I know the other half's Sony Android phone does so, and I don't think she downloaded anything that wasn't pre-loaded.

Have fun on your new bike!

Try the iphone app called co-rider - it lets you import gpx files. Or Google maps, but its cycle directions can be rather dubious as it tends to favour cycle routes even if they are miles out the way.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the responses, yeah it does look an easy route but its more if I decide to go off course and want to go further afield, will have a look at your suggestions.

The issue with gps apps is they are mostly very power hungry, my iPhone 4s is lucky to manage 3 hours with just strava running and the screen off

Google Navigation on my Samsung android talks to me. Very handy as the maps don't always load, but it keeps talking.
