Anyone using 'Own brand' SPD-SL cleats?

I go through SL cleats like no business.... too much walking from where the bike is left to the office... Perhaps I should have stayed with SPD cleats instead.... but that discussion is for another thread....

Anyway I was about to click buy on Amazon for new cleats and this time a set of covers for about 25 quid.... when I thought I would check out Wiggles site..... Their own brand redline cleats and covers came out at 12 quid including postage.... I could have bought 3 sets of cleats and 1 set of covers for less than 1 of both genuine shimano ones..... just tried 1 set for now... may stock up if they are any good.

The reviews for the redline look good.....some even suggest they are harder wearing than genuine, time will tell they are in the post en-route to me.

In the meantime are any CCers using them if so whats your thoughts.... i can't possibly wear them out any quicker than originals....

I buy generic Chinese ones from eBay - they're basic but OK for commuting/winter use.

I've got some Exustar ones which are fine, and cheaper than Shimanos. From Planet X IIRC. I did try a batch of the supercheap Chinese ones off Ebay, and won't be doing it again. They clip in OK but the little rubbery bits for walking on fall off almost immediately, leaving you with a disastrously slippy sole for walking. Also the quality of the bolts was so poor that I didn't even risk using them, and kept the old ones instead. And the colour coding for float doesn't apply, so you don't know what you're getting...

to be honest I didn't look on ebay... was about to press buy then looked at wiggle and thought 'why not' they can't be any worse than the totally destroyed ones i'm using at the moment!

the other week. I got them to make walking easier now I'm going to be using old road bike for shopping trips to make it safer walking round ALDI.
They should also give me longer life for my cleats.

Though I do have 2 spare sets. Bought some when I saw them cheap on't tinterweb and new set with pedals fitted to new bike.

They've arrived.... seem okay.... fitted to shoes and cleat covers seem a good fit.

I will try them out over the weekend. One review said the screws were too long and could be felt inside the shoe so reused the old ones.

They seem as good as genuine, quick jaunt at weekend and commuting duties today. The cleat covers seem a good fit and will hopefully keep wear down when walking from the bike racks at work......

I will see what they look like in a month or so as normally they are looking bit tired by that time.....

I've even decided to tighten up the tension from 'newbie'.....

Thread resurrection alert.....
after 6 weeks they are still going well and seem no different when being used to pukka shimano ones.... using the the covers when walking from the bike racks to the office and they have hardly worn at all.... so quite impressed....
