12 foot ceiling? I'll stick with hooks and stands, thank you.

I have a very similar model which works satisfactorily, although I prefer to secure the lifting rope on a cleat screwed to the wall rather than trust entirely the integral locking device as supplied. The bike is easily lifted and lowered, and can be suspended at any level for maintenance or cleaning. I got mine a lot cheaper from Lidl.

I've got two (from Aldi) I think they were around £5 - £6 each they are very simple and work easy enough. They do make it easy to hoist the bikes up off the floor for better storage. I tend to use them to store my sons bikes out of the way (he's at uni, so does not use them often) The price on Amazon seems very expensive, Look around further or wait for Aldi / Lidl to get them back in.

Great thanks, I wouldn't have thought supermarkets would sell these. There is an ornate single wheel stand for £50 on Amazon. Horses for courses I guess.

I've got the Lidl version which costs 5 or 6 quid. It's fixed into the 12 foot concrete ceiling of my office with heavy duty plastic plugs. It works a treat.

I think a neighbor has his kayak stored on a bike hoist. Of course, then it become a kayak hoist, I guess.

I use the same. The hooks that connect to the saddle don't connect to well with mine. It's come down once on top of me. I now have a piece of Rope that connects the rear pully to the front of the saddle as well. W.Heath would be proud.

They are great for freeing space.
