Just got back from a little 20 miler, first time I've been out since the weather has improved. I thought I'd get away with longs, s/s top, gloves and normal shoes.
My toes are still ice white 10 mins after getting in, just like in winter.
Its 11 degrees here in Manchester.

Anyone else still wearing overshoes or I am getting soft in my old age?

I wish I'd worn them at the weekend - I encountered sleet about halfway round and had ice blocks for big toes by the time I got home!xx(

Yes, but I wasn't going to get my nice white shoes dirty on a particular stretch of my ride today. Unfortunately the tyres and the back of my jersey smell of mud and manure!

I don't know how you can wear neoprene ones.

They might be waterproof, but that's from the inside out as well as the outside in and I end up with sweat-soaked feet and manky damp-smelling shoes...

So they get worn on the coldest, wettest days only.

I also have a pair of Windtex ones which are great - much more breathable, waterproof enough to keep out the spray you get from wet roads but not full rain, keep your feet warm & dry and keep your shoes clean.
