The blackbirds completely cleared my Rowan tree over a month back... and I've put up a Niger feeder for the first time this year ... but nobody has let the goldfinches or waxwings know. However the birds that I have (mostly house sparrows, blue tit's and robins with a few long tailed tits) seem to be trying to eat me out of house and home when it comes to the seed mix stuff, less on the sunflower hearts and nuts.

Now that's a proper waxwing pic- puts me to shame! Thanks for the link.

i dread to think how much his lens cost, possibly a canon 500mm ?

A flock of 7 in Braintree Essex, (could they be the same Cambridge 7? on their way south) I took a detour trough a new estate on my lunchtime walk as it has a green with trees at its centre, I was chuffed as well, more like a parrot in the way they hop around a tree when feeding.
