Anyone local to Chesterfield help please?

Hi, i have a whyte 801, loving it but my front brake seems to be weak and makes an awful noise when i apply it. This is my first bike with hydraulic disk brakes and have been told i may have air in the line. They are tektro brakes but i have no idea on how to bleed them. Is there anyone or anywhere other than J.E James who can fix this for a fair price? The last thing i want to do is start fiddling then make it worse

Sounds like worn/contaminated pads to me. Replace pads, clean rotor and fit new. Do this before you start down any other route.

how new is the bike? as most shops give a free service with new bikes

Its had its free service and then i took the front wheel off one day and ever since its been making the awful noise like a warped disk on a car, it doesnt lock up whatsoever and if i didn't have a good rear brake, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't stop with the front fully applied...

theres a thread on cleaning disks that should sort your sqweek! and bleed the break,shops charge 15qwid but diy guides on web

I think i'll take it to j.e.james for peace of mind lol they built the built for me and did the 6 weeks free service £15 is worth my peace of mind

You've pretty much answered your own question, I would double check the wheel has been refitted correctly, and might the need caliper realigning, I'm only in Blackwell if you're stuck.

yeah, i'll take the wheel off again and give it a blast with the hose then if its still making the noise i shall give you a shout i'm in blackwell quite a lot
