Hello, finally took delivery of my Triban 3 yesterday. Absolutely love it!! However, just wondered if anyone knew what these little rubbery bits are for? I'm new to this so could be missing something really obvious!?

Cheers for any help!

They are spacers for your brake/gear levers.
If you want the levers closer to your hands, pull the levers in then pop a pair in.

braking issues - I had a similar problem... http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/what-brake-blocks-please.111349/#post-2047256
as for putting them in, peel back the rubber to expose the area... then remove that very tiny bit of rubber blocking on of the holes, that piece that you probably have not seen/won't see unless you get the torch out...
now insert the other insert whilst holding the brakes in the ON position... (elastic bands or another set of hands are useful at this point...)
release brake levers and they should slot into place...

A-Ha.....you are one LUCKY bunny! My TRiban 3 didn't come with these...and I felt the brakes where too far away for me to squeeze comfortably-so I sent off to SJS for a pair for a couple of quid each..........made a world of difference. A bit fiddly to fit but peel back the shrouds and they should slot into place wit a fair wind and a bit of jiggling.

I think they 'should' come with all new Shimano gruppos..........but suspect a lot of bike shops just bin 'em or forget to pack them?
