Hi just need an ID on this frame I saw today I think it's a Claud Butler

Ooh ! A nice oldie ! Sounds good !
It had the remnants of an old leather saddle , lovely frame , needs a lot of work on rear drop outs stc , I'll be back !!

100 is the asking price for it . Needs a fair bit of work on the back end though, it's way to big for me, shame very nice bike ,does anyone have an idea of how old it may be .

Looking at the 'axe-head' lug work, I believe this is a B.A.R (best all rounder) dating to around the 50s.

Would the badge have looked the same as the red bike . As though the colouring has gone , I'd say the frame had been hand painted at some time

Assuming the badge matches, it was used for only a short time by Claud Butler, and as far as I can find out only one model.
The Olympic, made as they were going through hard times and whilst ownership of the Claud Butler name was under dispute.

I'm sure I've seen that badge going back into the 1940's ?

I'll get the frame number after Xmas , that will give a better picture, just wish I'd have done it at the time !!
