If so - hello! I've just taken possession of one of these, and being a complete IT dimwit (some might say just a dimwit...) I'd really appreciate a shoulder or two to cry on if I hit problems.

(I'm aware of the Brytongps.com site, but sometimes there may be a basic problem that isn't on there).

Perhaps we could get our own little thread going as an interesting alternative to all the Garmin ones...

Hi, I just got one, pretty peeved that I only got the UK HD map rather than the world base map. but hey thats progress for you.

Only used it once so far to nav a trip. It works well enough but the green line can be hard to see/ follow on the little screen especially when it is percipitating it down  It does bleep to warn you that you need to make a deviation from the road you are currently on to warn you to look at the screen, however it is easy to miss in traffic/ noisy environs.

Also at a major road split it is the unit that decides in which direction the road you are on goes, ie the main road that I was on bent round to the right, the route I needed to take forked off to the left/ straight on, there was no bleep so ended up doing a 2 mile detour.

If your route is a fig 8 or x itself the green line from your return is shown on the screen at the same time so you can end up with green lines pointing in all directions

Just a couple of things I have come across.

FWIW I use a Bryton Rider 35. It's a cracking little unit, although I definitely don't get the best from it, but that's down to me not the unit.

I had some issues when I got it, not picking up on my PC and sensors not functioning, but after a quick trip back to Bryton, (via Merlin Cycles) it's been absolutely perfect since. Far and away the best computer I've ever had.

I was going to go for the 50 but decided to stick with the smaller 35, plus the fact I wanted the HRM and cadence sensors as well, so this pushed the 50 beyond my budget anyway
