Any parky cyclists on here? It would be good to compare notes. I have had it for 7 years and cycling is a huge benefit. Managed to cycle across the USA 6 years ago and did an Ironman the year I was diagnosed. LEJOG in 2019. Last year I cycled to Barcelona. It is definitely getting harder and I have had another serious health issue needing treatment this year, plus a hernia operation!

So who's in the same boat?

I do not have Parkinson's but my wife had so I unfortunately have experience as I was her carer.
It was not a good experience towards towards the end when she died following a stroke.
You seem to be doing well and keep going as you do as long as possible is my only advice.
There appear to be recent improvement in treatment so enquire about that from perhaps the Parkinson's Society as many doctors do not appear to be well clued up on the condition.

My father died of Parkinson’s last year a few weeks after diagnosis  There probably were signs but it was never picked up (esp as his father died of it too).

Hope it continues to progress slowly for you

My dad had it as did my FIL and my aunt has it. So I do know some of what people go through.
My dad used to cycle a lot in his earlier years but only really did cycling on a trainer when his condition became more severe.
I understand cycling is good for it, so good to hear you are keeping it going. 👍

Sadly there are no new treatments that make much difference. My consultant says that he always says it is best to be a moving target than a sitting duck! So I'll keep up with the Cycling!
