Anybody got a Superstar Components Pavé 28 wheelset?

These are a super light and super stiff wheelset, for a bargain £195.00. They certainly transform the feel of a bike especially if it's got the maker's original budget wheels.

BUT..... I'm beginning to think that light weight comes at the expense of strength. Anybody else got a set and got any comments?

Somebody in the show us your specialized photo thread had a set of superstar paves if i remember correctly, but personally for an extra 50 nicker i would buy campag zondas

I'm thinking of buying the Superstar Pave 28 wheelset which have a wide 23mm rim. Does anyone know if you can still run these with 23mm tyres, or if 25mm are the narrowest tyres you can put on?

It's not really a review, but I bought these wheels in May this year. They have been great apart from a bit of the rim that flaked off during the first few hundred miles but no issues so far. Very little sideways flex when honking up a hill and they have a nice loud freewheel, but it's not stupidly loud.

They look smart on the bike but noticeably chunkier as they are wide rims. They fit 23mm tyres fine.

For the weight and price I think they are great value at full price and a no brainer at the current deal price. I got mine for £155 earlier this year when they knocked 20% off.

Thanks for the heads up, I have a couple of friends waiting to buy them when the next deal is on.
