…that they used to wear with pride (disco-usps) that has become utterly tainted by doping scandals? or even a bike (the usps treks were a common site on sportive events a while back).

or do you keep them if you like the design?

I didn't buy them in the first place - didn't like the man, and associated stuff.

No, never bought the stuff.
But my first 'decent' bike was a Trek which now needs a re-spray!!! (It was not purchased because of LA, it was what the LBS recommended and I liked the ride)

I think the way people feel about Armstrong will go through stages, a bit like you can think of the 5 stages of grief:

We've had Denial. Oh yes, we've had a hell of a lot of denial.

We've had Anger too.

Bargaining has got underway - LA puts out feelers, pictures on twitter, to see how people will react to him. Bargaining of a different sort, with SCA already got underway, although so far rejected.

I guess, the shame of owning USPS kit is part of Depression with associated bad feeling of owning it.

What I'm trying to say is that Acceptance is the light at the end of the tunnel. If you bought Livestrong/USPS/Disco kit, you may feel bad about it right now but... it wasn't really your fault that you believed - very few didn't at the time. It's fundamentally good kit and remains so. Just put it away for a bit, or make an ironical modification and in the fullness of time, you can sport it with knowing and wisdom, recognising the superficiality of branding for what it is and that it is not about you or product branding. As someone once said, it's about the bike itself....

Never purchased replica kit, just because I would feel a bit of a twat in it. I remember a cycle journo reporting from the Tour that he walked past the USPS squad whilst wearing full replica USPS kit and how they all laughed at him.

I have a Discovery top, I continue to use it because I like the design and it would be a waste of good kit not to use it.

Yesterday I saw someone on the tube wearing two Livestrong bands on the same wrist...!

Just because someone who used to ride for a team has been an idiot, no reason to discard a perfectly good bike. I wouldn't even consider buying pro team kit though, advertising should be paid for, not purchased. Beside which I've worn some horrible designs in the past, at least getting some money to do it!So now I use some old club kit from years ago, or plain kit, or stuff I've been given over the years which is still good.

Interesting to see that the LA associated stuff on eBay seems to be going for buttons compared to a few years back.

My first road bike was a Trek Madone 5.5, and I've always rued the day I sold it:cry:

It was a fantastic bike, (praise indeed considering my views on cf these days).

If I still had it and enjoyed riding it I wouldn't dream of selling it over LA's shenanigans.

I bought it as it was a friggin' bargain, not because it was the same frame LA won the TDF on.

So long as they didn't have both wrists in the same band.. That would be a bit suspicious, especially if they had on a lurid coloured overall.

Altho' I have kit with commercial logos they are not sponsors of cyclists. Just tour/travel companies. It saves having to bin it.
