Any suggestions on Merida bikes

I've posted this on the mtn bike forum, and would like to know of anyone's opinion on here. Has anyone got a Merida bike? Thinking of buying one for around £600 mark, but am a little scared, as my trusted Saracen has serviced me well for 10+ yrs.

All I know is they apparently make the frames for other bike manufacturers - well regarded I believe frame wise at least

That's a lot of money (to me, at least), so make sure you are happy with whichever bike you decide to buy. What sort of riding do you do? Mainly road cycling or something else?

Hi, thanks for your advice, I do mostly mtn biking-nothing REALLY rough, forest tracks, bridleways, Dalby, Grizedale, so bit of north shore-when I'm feeling brave!! Nowt serious.

Do Merida make the frames for Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op? I have a Triad and I'm sure I read somewhere the frames were made for EBS by Merida.

They do indeed.

But they're produced in the same factory as specialized-just cheaper!!
