Need more info. When you hit download now on the adobe site does anything happen? If not there is a link further down saying if download does not start click here. I had to use this today worked fine after that.

reformat your computer.
This is generally something people should do every so often, at least every 6 months, as a matter of housekeeping - but most people never bother.
A lot of viruses these days are designed to be non-bothersome - so people don't try to investigate them and they get removed. They want to carry on doing what they do - but they won't survive a reformat.
Not saying your computer has got viruses, but a reformat will undoubtedly fix this as it's probably something in your registry that's been corrupted. And no before you ask 'registry fixing' tools are NOT a good idea.

Reformatting removes everything from your hard drive. Don't do it unless you have to and know what you're doing.
I think Bonj may have meant reinstall, which is a bit less drastic.

The phrase sledgehammer to crack an egg springs to mind.
One would hope that you have partitioned your hard drive and keep your data separate. Don't forget to copy all of the drivers before taking such a radical step.

Formatting basically means completing deleting everything on the hard drive that you use including the operating software.

Before you start you will want to backup every file you want to keep and any software, music, videoas etc. Remember everything that isnt backed up will be gone!

Restart you PC with the windows (or other operating software) cd in the drive and follow the on screen commands to format your PC and re install windows.

Your PC will be like a new machine and much faster!

Thats it basically in basic steps but I am sure bonj can expand (correct any of my mistakes)

Try googling the exact message you are getting. You will probably find duplicate messages out there in forum land. It works for me. Everything I've searched for so far has been harmless, just an over-active firewall (comodo)

joules - this sounds just like the problem I had recently. I downloaded the full adobe flash player, not from the link provided by youtube (which does not appear to be the correct one), but the one provided in reply #9 by daskarzine in the following link: http://forums.techguy.org/multimedia/526305-hello-you-either-have-javascript.html

i.e. go to http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html

Hopefully that should sort it.

hmm good idea. how do you do it?

stick your xp disc in, and reinstall.
download SP3 network installation first to minimize updates.
back up all data you want to keep first.
