any budding boffins ?

now i don't know whether i am talking out my backside now or if i have just come up with a brilliant idea - maybe a computer whizz could tell me ! would it be possible in these techno days to hitch up your garmin with all your extras ( cadence ,hrm ) while on your turbo , live to your computer so downloading your ride while you are doing it , if this is possible then surely its only a stones throw from virtual racing against someone doing the same with tracks and all sorts . i know one company does it through the turbo trainer but don't think anyone does it with garmin . would it be possible or not - if it is possible and you are a techno whizz - then it was my idea and i want dibs
