Any Alfine Hub Experts About?

Could do with adjusting my 8-speed hub, it's not changing as smoothly as it should. It's fine at standstill but on the move, when it's really needed, it's not quite right. I found one online tutorial but it wasn't related to a road bike. I've adjusted the cable so the yellow lines meet by changing to gear 5 and then dropping back to 4 and that's when the lines meet but I've no idea if this is correct (anyway it's still not right). Doesn't seem to be any manual for the hub available.

I've got the 11 speed version and lining up the yellow marks is what it says on the leaflet that comes with the hub. That seems to work fine but although it says you can change down under power I still find it needs a momentary pause in pedal pressure to change smoothly. Have you checked your cables are running freely?
