any advice on watching stage 8 of ToB?

im going with a few friends to london to watch the last stage of the tour of britian and was hoping to be at whitehall so i can watch the start and then the *hopefully* amazing finish, does anybody have any advice on what itme to get there, where to stand etc etc? thanks a ton

Hi LJ i went last year when the start/finish was on embankment just before westminster bridge.The crowds there were about 8 deep so not too bad,you might want to take some food/snacks/drink as last yr there was no refreshment stalls also no portaloos you had to find a pub or underground station if you needed the loo

how early should i really get there to get a half decent place? ie near the front of the crowd?

Depends where on the course you plan to be. the start/finish area will be busy as will the turn around at the tower. I turned up 2hrs early last year and it was only 2/3 deep at the start finish, i plan to keep on the move this yr between Whitehall and embankment
