another tyre question

i need new tyres for my road bike ,id like a degree of puncture protection ,its currently got gatorskins on but im gona put them on my commuter bike as they are brilliant (up till now)so i need new road tyres ,i was thinking bontrager hardcase but what about theses as well

I didnt get on with mine (wired ones) no p'tures but lost the back of them a few times; @ianrauk swears by them though and has done a lot more miles on them than me. I swapped mine out for Mitch Krylion Carbons (Now Pro 4 Endurance); I rate them more but they are just more than twice the price.

I do all my leisure miles on them, in all weathers. Look after them and they will last a long time. As for losing the back of them, I've never had that trouble, but @HLaB is a much faster rider then I.

Conti gp4000s......you get what you pay for. Fit and enjoy even in the wet!

I just fitted 2 of the 700x25mm Pro4s, cost me about £50 for two from Evans on a price match, taking quidco cashback into account

I was using conti gp4000s front and rear, until I got a nasty gash in the front, now running a conti gp 4 season up front, no problems so far, I have a set of gator skins ready for when the wet winter comes in and more rubbish is washed onto the road.

Ive heard/experienced that a lot lately. I had 2 base GPs fail in under 1100 miles (one was only on its second or third outing), I binned recently a GP4000s that failed at the side wall too (I wondered if I had touched wheels with the rider in front ) and a mates ride was ruined when his similarly failed (after 3 rides) and he most certainly didnt cross wheels. I'd rate GP's for their grippyness/rolling but endurance

Indeed, they roll like a dream and grip well, but the 4 season has not failed me yet. Will get another 4 season for the back during these summer months if the 4000s fails me. But defo moving to gator skins this winter.

The 4 seasons are good tyres IMO, I only switched to Mitch because of the cost but I have been greatly impressed by them. I've went back to conti for the summer but they'll come off in winter and I dont know if they'll come back
