Another question about tyres

Sorry about this but it maybe a stupid sounding question, does it matter which way you you put the tread ? I know my old bike when I got new tyres for it the new tyres had an arrow showing which way the tread is going the bike I have now does not

If there aint no arrow there aint no directionality. But always; label on the right.

Generally the tread pattern will be designed to push water out from under the tyre. So, assuming there is a 'V' type element in the tread, make sure they are fitted so the 'V' is 'pointing forward' a la http://freespace.virgin.net/paul.z/Moto/anakee.jpg
