Seen on the London New Years Day Parade. Layout like an Ordinary, but with equal sized wheels. Possibly a hub gear on the front? What on earth is it?

It is a Crypto Bantam from the early1890's.

They were designed as an alternative Starley's 'Safety' bicycle.

I have a nice picture from the Kennington Oval of Crypto's racing against Safety's - I'll try and dig it out this evening.
