Bamboozled!

I've been riding my electric bike for a few months which has a massive uper squash sofa style saddle.

This week I've been back on my Specialized Myka and my bum is kiling me. This was a problem before I got the ebike, but I never got round to sorting it.
The pressure feels like its all round my coccyx. I posted a long time ago and a now ex CCer had recomended leveling the saddle, but it feels as much that its the fore/aft position thats the problem.

I've just undone the bolt and I'm trying it in all sorts of positions but I just cant work out where it should be.
Any tips?

Can't understand if it's the squishy saddle or the other that is causing the problem. Most recieved wisdom says point the nose down about 10%, this works for me, so does a firm narrow saddle but might not be good for you. But it does seem it may be your position if you are getting pains around your coccyx. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

It's the saddle on the specialized thats hurting me. I'm trying to work out where it should be. I've moved it as far forward as it will go, I'm going to live with it and adjust it back a bit at a time.

Worth trying the ebike saddle on the Spesh?

Purists on here will curl a lip, but rider comfort - in this case yours - is all that matters.

No, I'm going to be alternating quite frequently so thats not really practical. I'd like to try and see if I can make the current saddle work before investing in something different. OH has loaned me a gel saddle cover, but I'd rather not go down that road.

You mention leveling it ... which way does it currently point?

Have you got a ladies saddle on the Spesh? My Giant had a mans saddle on it and my bum was in agony. I went and bought a Specialized BG Riva saddle and it's most comfy.

It's this saddle:

Body Geometry Women’s Riva MTB, 155mm width

It was pointing down a bit. I've tilted the nose up as much as possible but it still seems higher at the back. Jut been out on it. Seems a bit better but its still hurting. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Put a large hard back book on the saddle then a spirit level. Start with it level then experiment with it slightly up and down.

Put the seat post in the middle of the rails then experiment with moving it slightly forward and back.

Search on saddle height in case that is what is causing the problem.

Don't go from one extreme to another. Just start with a neutral position; make small changes one at a time and evaluate if the change is an improvement or a deterioration.

Don't persevere for a long time before trying another saddle. All bottoms are different and it is a case of trial and error.
