Hi I think this is my first post here although I have been lurking a short while.

My reason for posting is that I have a really, really, annoying squeaking coming from the saddle of my mtb.

I have used lube spray and grease in an effort to stop the squeak and these have worked for a very short while, but soon the squeaking starts again.

I've done 32 miles on it today and it was ok for about the first 3 but then it drove me mad for the rest of the ride.

Does anyone have any suggeations on a fix for this please, other than buying a new saddle? lol.

Thanks Nathan

Is it the saddle itself or where it attaches to the seatpost?

I'm confident its the saddle itself, it may be as suggested that the saddle rails are moving at the clamp. Thinking about it I think the squeaking has started since I moved the saddle backwards a bit.

I've had sqeaks or creaks from my last two saddles. A Brooks Flyer, which I sent back to them for examination and which has slightly improved. Then the standard saddle (very comfortable) on my Ridgeback Supernova creaks in time to my pedalling cadence. I've tried tightening the wee allen-key sockets on the underneath and spraying with a silicone spray but still it creaks. I was told by one LBS that greasing the saddle rails might help.
