I've got a annoying creaking noise on my road bike, I've tightened everthing up thinking I'd solved it but no it's still there, just don't know what it is. Also in low gear the pedals jerk forward as if the chain slips it only does it in low 6,7,8. Any ideas anyone? thanks in advance.

Saddle?? Try riding stood up to see if it goes away

Shoes???

Both of those had me pulling my hair out once in the past searching for a creak, one of my shoes was renowned for it at times, especcially if they had got soaked and dried out, a bit of shoe polish around the tounge sorted it out

Still happens when stood up and my pedals are with toe clips should have mentioned that. The bike is only three months old and I do 100 miles a week could it be the pedals, surely I don't need to replace them every 3 months?

Have a look HERE

Thanks for the advice hopefully I'll get it sorted, I also read that being on the smallest chainring and the smallest cog wears out the chain and cogs quicker and it's best to avoid these gears is that true?
