My brand new cube has a muted rattle coming from I don't know where but only on rougher poorer tarmac surfaces it goes away on smooth surfaces. I thought bottles cages at first, but they are very secure, every bolt that can be tightened has been. Is it just the rubbish roads in Scotland, and just the "general noise" of the chain set, frame etc ? And that I am being pedantic ? It's a full carbon frame.

Does it have internal cables?

If the cables are inners only, get three or four of those little plastic doughnuts and slip then along the cable using a piece of thin copper tubing. You can buy thin copper tubing in plumbers' merchants and caravanning shops, sometimes.

Do you have a Brooks saddle on the bike? If so it might be the tension nut underneath.

Don't ask me how I know this.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
At the cake stop last Sunday the LBS owner + bike owner were telling us how a ferrule fell of inside a frame with internal cabling and they ended up using expanding foam as they could not get it out and it rattled.
