Hello, I've got an annoying creak and I've worked out where its from using the sheldon website.

Basically when I pull the crank arms towards the frame I get the creaks also a bit of a clunk when climbing out of the saddle....I assume my bottom bracket needs tightening?

Pedalling my less than 200miles Sirrius creaks like a neglected bike, I cleaned the chain, checked the threads were greased and tightened pedals/seat/seatpost/handlebars(and attached gubbins) and tried to eliminate what I thought it could otherwise be.

I could take it back to the shop where I bought it but it has been back twice to true the rear wheel within two days and the cassette wobbles like mad( is that ok??) asked them last time to check it and nothing has changed.

It is due for its free first service soon so should I simply make a list and bung it in and not take it back till I'm happy?....esp about the cassette wobble!
Thanks

Sounds like a loose BB and ill-fitted cassette(it shouldn't wobble) - you can take it back or consider the better option of getting the couple of tools to fix it yourself.

If the bike is that new and has already exhibited other problems, I would take it back and get the lbs to sort it. If you sort it out yourself and the bike continues to have issues in the future, then you may be partially blamed for them.

Do make sure that they know that you don't think is 'normal' for a new bike, perhaps they can explain things away or suggest things that you can do to prevent any future issues.

Sounds like the cassette may have been fitted without the correct spacer. Or the freehub is knackered.

As for creaking BBs: is it an external bearing job? These seem prone to creaking/coming loose. Hopefully just needs tightening but BB shell may need facing too.
