Hi Guys,

I recently started road cycling this year, on a pretty rubbish road bike and found I very much enjoyed it! So I've got a shiny new road bike on it's way, upgraded to a clipless pedal system in readiness for next year to really give road cycling a serious bash.

I live on Angelsey in North Wales-without a car (use my friends to get to places for cycling at weekends), so during the week I'm generally only able to cycle starting close to home.

It's a long shot, but I was wondering if there was anyone based on Angelsey (around Rhosneigr way) that's keen to get out during the weeks next year. Often free Mondays and Thursdays.

Hopeful long shot, I know.

p.s I'm not the best rider you'll meet so, beginners-ish would be better. Rides up to maybe 50miles for now.

Hi Liam, I`m not upto 5 mile yet let alone 50 but I`m improving so see how I`m doing after the new year and I might join you. I live over at Carmel and can sometimes be seen metal detecting on Rhosneigr beach.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the reply, Carmel is only 14km from me and nice roads to get there so I could ride over that way and meet you. I'm happy riding any distances, to be honest, I just enjoy getting out in the open air, nice roads, good company etc.

Keep in touch if you ever fancy getting out.

Once I can do a fair distance I will. Just at the moment my legs don`t like hills, even small ones, so trying to build them up. I only got a bike again on the 13th after nearly 30 years.

Great to see you getting on a bike again! Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your cycling to come. You'll soon be up and down the hills no problem!

Take care,
