During his Telekom days he used to turn up at the Taurus park hotel or the San Diego in Mallorca pre season and at odd times during a break in racing for training. As I was out there myself regularly I got chatting with him and he was a really nice bloke, he would often have his wife and son out there with him and my mate and i would often sit with them.
We never wanted to intrude on his training but spent some time riding together when he was having a 'rest day' and he was really good company.
The point is this, these sportsmen and women are not all nasty like LA but it doesn't change the fact that they are cheating bastards.
Everyone deserves a second chance ( up to a point ) but if they do not come fully clean when given that chance they should be out for good.
I was not naive enough to not know what was going on in the sport back then but its such a shame to have happy memories tarnished like this.
