Ambrosio Hub - Oil Holes ?

After yesterday's nightmare (read on the 'my ride today' thread if you re interested) I borrowed a front wheel of a friend it runs almost indefinitely but squeaks like mad. I though it might have been the guards but I took it off the bike and rotated by the QR, stand alone from the guards and it seems to be the hub despite it running free. On removing I noticed a hole on either side of the hub are these lube holes?

ive seen some very old campag hubs with similar holes but can't say for sure if these are in fact for lubing the hubs.

If it's an Ambrosio Zenith hub I think the holes are for a grub screw.
