hi, my first thread here, i got into cycling properly about 4 months ago, and just upgraded to a road bike (not used it yet). On my hybrid when i return, even from huge trips, i find i am not really tired at all, and can go about like normal, which makes me think whether i am pushing myself enough, or just taking it too easy. i don't really think i have that much more performance in me, i would guess i travel at 13mph on my hybrid when i do rides less than 50 miles, but on my new one i did .7 miles really quick and did 18 average without pushing at all, not really sure. any advice, anyone? thanks. i'm 17, too if that's relevant.

You're riding as you see fit, happy in what you are doing.
When to do start with the roadie, you'll usually find that you want to go faster, harder, higher, longer etc

haha @berty! And Tony, i have been trying a lot recently, improved massively in 4 months - went from being practically dead after 7 miles to being able to walk and act almost fine after 88 miles, but i do feel like i'm pushing, maybe i just recover really fast, i tend to drink energy drinks on the return leg, would this perhaps help out? and your advice on the road bike, on that little bit i did, i kept pushing, and it felt great, so hopefully i'll be keeping that up, thank you.

the bike i just bought is the incredible B'twin Triban 3 - 10.5kg, drops, carbon forks, and i don't feel ready for races yet after just 4 months of proper cycling, considering this summer with a friend if he chooses to go for a road bike, if not, will go alone. thanks, again. I was thinking too, maybe i slow down near the end because i'm tired - i tend to go on huge rides, so i'm not really pushing at all at the end.
